Plant protein-protein interaction sites

About PlaPPISite

PlaPPISite is a comprehensive database presenting fine-grained protein-protein interaction (PPI) site annotations. It covers both experimentally verified and predicted PPIs for 13 plants including Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, Arabidopsis thaliana, Ricinus communis, Glycine max, Oryza sativa, Solanum lycopersicum, Solanum tuberosum, Vitis vinifera, Zea mays, Brachypodium distachyon, Selaginella moellendorffii, Populus trichocarpa and Medicago truncatula.

For experimentally verified PPIs, the experimentally determined complex structures were collected from PDB database and others were modeled by using HMPC and PRISM methods. Due to the limition of experimental techniques, only a few plant PPIs have been identified. To increase the coverage, potential PPIs for the 13 plant species were predicted by using interolog method. Moreover, the complex structures of predicted PPIs were also built. Regarding each predicted PPI, the GO annotation, the subcellular localization information and the gene expression similarities are listed to help users to further judge its relability. More

The current version of PlaPPISite contains 121 PPIs with experimentally determined complex structures, 3,143 experimental PPIs with predicted 3D complex structures, 13,967 experimental PPIs with domain-domain/motif interaction annotations, 129,185 predicted PPIs with predicted 3D complex structures and 332,963 predicted PPIs with predicted domain-domain/motif interaction annotations.
